Detroit casino seeks dismissal of tribe's case

The owner of a casino in Detroit is asking to be removed from the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Tribe's case.

The tribe sued after it was denied a chance to bid on three casinos in Detroit. But MGM Grand says it wasn't subject to preferential rules found illegal in the case.

The tribe reached a $79 million settlement with the other two casinos. The tribe will also receive $15 million from some casino investors.
