The mayor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, said he won't try to convince the Forest County Potawatomi Tribe to open a downtown casino.
Local leaders were pushing the tribe to build in Milwaukee. The tribe didn't commit, citing pending litigation challenging new tribal-state gaming compacts, but is interested in expanding its gaming operations.
Mayor Tom Barrett said he doesn't necessarily oppose the casino but said other issues are of higher priority.
