Federal law enforcement authorities obtained videotapes and other information that suggested terrorists in Detroit and Spain were targeting casinos in Las Vegas, the Associated Press reports.
Alleged terrorists made tapes of at least three Vegas casinos. The tapes were purportedly made to help Al-Qaeda leaders select targets.
The tapes were made several years ago but were uncovered in 2002, a year after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Vegas officials and law enforcement say they weren't told about the evidence.
