Colleges moving to serve growing gaming market

Colleges and universities throughout the nation are offering gaming courses and majors in hopes of serving a quickly growing market.

San Diego State University, Michigan State University, Tulane University's University College in New Orleans, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and Reno are among the schools turning out graduates. Courses include gambling law, tribal sovereignty, casino security and hospitality.

Marvin Phillips, a member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York, will graduate from Morrisville State College with a double major in information technology and gaming. He said he was attracted to the area because of his tribe's casino.
