Sponsor of Neb. gaming bill unsure of support

The sponsor of a bill to legalize up to eight casinos in Nebraska isn't sure how much support it has.

Sen. DiAnna Schimek, a Democrat from Lincoln, has tried to legalize tribal casinos for several years but hasn't been able to get the issue before voters. Her latest proposal, in the form of a constitutional amendment, is still being debated on the floor.

Last year, Nebraska's four federally recognized tribes made a big push to authorize gaming but again the effort failed.
