Thousands turn out for casino resort job fair

An estimated 2,500 people showed up on the first day of the Seminole Tribe's three-day job fair.

The tribe hired more than 600 people on the spot to work at its new $200-million Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. "Great," said one of the new hires, currently employed at a non-Indian card club in California. "I wanted to work for an Indian Casino. They take care of you."

The job fair continues today and tomorrow. The tribe needs 1,800 people when the facility opens in late April. Last month, the tribe hired 1,700 people for another casino resort.
