Computer access blocked for talking about casino

A member of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut was denied computer access after allegedly disclosing proprietary information about a proposed casino, The New London Day reports.

Robert Hayward, brother of Vice Chairman Richard A. “Skip” Hayward, posted information to an internal forum about the so-called Pequot Island project. Skip Hayward has promoted the project for several years but tribal members voted to go with a $100 million expansion instead.

Charlene Jones, a council member, ordered Robert Hayward's access to be blocked. But other council members said the entire council should have been consulted. Jones has since sought to restore Hayward's access and is calling for a committee to develop regulations affecting confidential and proprietary documents.
