Coos Tribes hold private opening for new casino

Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians opened their new casino on Saturday.

The tribes faced criticism for opening a casino on 98 acres known as the Hatch Tract. The state sued the federal government to stop the land from being taken into trust but lost a decision in court. A group called People Against a Casino Town filed another suit but lost in court as well.
