Coalition fights Washington slot machine initiative

A broad coalition of tribes, Christian leaders and anti-gambling groups say they will work to defeat an initiative to expand slot machines in Washington.

Currently, slots are limited to tribal casinos. Initiative 892, if passed, would allow the machines at non-Indian card clubs.

I-892 is spearheaded by Tim Eyman, who has made a career out of sponsoring initiatives. He has accepted money from gaming interests outside the state to promote I-892.
