FBI downplays briefing on Indian gaming 'problem'

The FBI is downplaying a press briefing being held tomorrow to address the "$15 billion gaming problem" in Indian Country.

Last week, the FBI announced a briefing to "address Indian Country Crime prevention and the establishment of the Indian Gaming Working Group and the proactive measures in place to investigate this $15 billion gaming problem." When asked about it, an unnamed FBI official told The Native American Times that, "We want to get ahead of this before any problems surface."

The meeting is taking place at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The National Indian Gaming Commission and the Bureau of Indian Affairs are slated to attend.
