The Seminole Tribe has joined the Miccosukee Tribe in seeking to negotiate a Class III compact with the state of Florida.
The Seminole Tribe notified Gov. Jeb Bush (R) yesterday of its intent to negotiate. Bush has 180 days to respond in "good faith." He still hasn't responded to the Miccosukee Tribe's notification.
The tribes believe approval of a slot machine referendum in a South Florida county entitles them to the same machines. Gaming law experts have agreed with the tribes. Bush campaigned against the slot vote.
