Three Kansas tribes who are seeking an off-reservation casino are conducting a market study that will look at potential competition from tribes in Oklahoma.
The Kickapoo Tribe, the Sac and Fox Nation and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation have proposed a casino at a site in Cherokee County in southeast Kansas. That would put the casino in close proximity to tribal casinos in northeastern Oklahoma.
The proposed casino would include a 250-room hotel, an 80,000-square-foot gambling floor and 2,000 slot machines.
