Wisconsin tribes took in nearly $1.2 billion in 2004


Wisconsin tribes generated nearly $1.2 billion in revenues from their casinos in 2004, the state Legislative Audit Bureau said in a report [PDF] on Wednesday.

The amount represented a 10 percent increase from 2003 and a 29 percent increase from 2000, according to the report. The net profits were $516.3 million.

Most of the revenues at tribal casinos came from Class III games. In 2004, these games generated $1.09 billion. Class II revenues generated $22.2 million while casino-related activities such as hotels, restaurants and gift shops generated $79.0 million.
