The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community of Minnesota has awarded a $1 million grant to the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota for a bingo hall.
The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe plans to build a 7,000-square-foot facility in Eagle Butte.
Construction is set to start in September with a grand opening tentatively set for Christmas.
The Shakopee Tribe, owners of a successful casino in the Twin Cities, has loaned and donated millions to tribes and Indian organizations.
