Opposition fails to stop new casino liquor license

The San Bernardino, California, City Council failed to get enough votes to approve a resolution opposing a liquor license for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians' new casino.

The council voted 3-2 to submit its opposition to the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Four votes were needed to approve the resolution.

The tribe opened the casino last week with a grand opening slated for January 28.
