The Glenn County, California, Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 on Tuesday not to support a casino proposed by the Grindstone Rancheria of Wintun-Wailaki Indians.
The tribe sought local support for the casino on Interstate 5. The tribe wants 280 acres of non-reservation land taken into trust.
The board heard from both sides of the debate. Some supervisors said they were opposed to gaming on moral grounds.
