Who's in charge of Indian gaming -- BIA? NIGC?

Who's in charge of gaming at the federal level? The National Indian Gaming Commission? The Bureau of Indian Affairs?

Rep. Brian Baird (D-Washington) isn't sure. "I've been following this process closely for a year to a year and half and every time I think I've gotten it figured out, something else comes along," he tells The Oregonian.

To try and figure it out, Baird wants everyone involved. He's asking Interior Secretary Gale Norton to hold a meeting with the BIA in Washington, D.C., the BIA in Portland, the BIA's Office of Indian Gaming Management, the Office of the Solicitor at DOI and the NIGC to clear the matter up once and for all.
