GOP congressman introduces anti-Indian gaming bill

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Michigan) introduced a bill on Thursday that targets the $18.5 billion Indian gaming industry.

The bill would require state and legislative approval of gaming compacts, increase background investigations and require tribes to disclose gaming plans in seeking trust lands. It would also bar gaming on newly acquired trust lands not contiguous to an existing reservation.
