The Puyallup Tribe of Washington says it will continue to make $2,000 monthly per capita payments although some members say it isn't wise to do so.
Tribal leaders say the Emerald Queen Casino is doing well and will continue to generate revenues. But a group called Full Circle of the Puyallup Nation [Web Site] says the tribe won't be able to make the payments due to rising membership and a loan restructuring.
According to documents provided to The Tacoma News Tribune, the per cap payments took $83.5 million of the casino's net revenue of $126 million. The tribe restructured $130 million in loans to continue making the payments, Full Circle says.
