A judge in Washington has ordered David Barnett, a member of the Cowlitz Tribe and spokesperson for the tribe's casino proposal, to limit his contact with an opponent of the casino.
Barnett cannot phone or send e-mail to Kamie Biehl, the former executive director of the anti-casino group Stand Up for Clark County. The two can still attend public forums on the casino proposal.
Barnett had been accusing of making harassing calls to Biehl. He didn't refute the allegations in a court affidavit, The Oregonian reported.
The Cowlitz Tribe was recognized in 2000 through the Bureau of Indian Affairs process and is seeking to acquire an initial reservation where the casino would be located. The proposal has generated significant controversy.
