Thirteen California lawmakers are urging Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) to seek swift passage of S.113, a bill that would force the closure of the Lytton Band of Pomo Indians' casino.

The tribe opened a Class II facility on land acquired through an act of Congress. Since the acquisition was backdated, the tribe didn't have to go through Section 20 of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

S.113, sponsored by Feinstein, would repeal the backdating. The land would remain in trust but the tribe wouldn't be allowed to engage in gaming until the Section 20 process is complete.
