Spokane Tribe worried about McCain's IGRA bill

The Spokane Tribe of Washington is worried about proposed amendments to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, chairman Greg Abrahamson said.

The tribe has trust land outside its reservation that it wants to use for gaming. Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona), the chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, has introduced a bill that would make it harder for that to happen.

Spokane Chairman Greg Abrahamson attended the committee's hearing on off-reservation gaming. He said the tribe isn't lobbying against the bill just yet but is closely watching how it develops.
