Buffalo no longer receptive to Seneca Nation casino

Officials and business leaders in Buffalo, New York, are turning against the Seneca Nation to oppose the tribe's off-reservation casino.

The casino had been welcomed as a way to jump start the local economy. But after the tribe, in a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, indicated that most of its customers would come from the region, not from elsewhere, people started changing their minds.

The tribe says it will generate 1,000 jobs and keep money in Buffalo. The tribe is asking for $6 million in improvements around the nine-acre casino site.
