Navajo Nation gets casino help from San Pasqual Band

The Navajo Nation is getting help from a tribe experienced in Indian gaming.

The Navajo Nation is planning to open its first casino, in Arizona, later this year. The San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians, based in California, is lending a hand.

"Gaming is an avenue to help you get into other businesses and move forward," San Pasqual Chairman Allen E. Lawson said, The Gallup Independent reported.

Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. is eyeing other sites on the reservation for potential casino sites.
