Pokagon Band to break ground on first casino in June

The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians will break ground on its first casino on June 3.

The casino will be located on 675 in New Buffalo, Michigan. The land was taken into trust after six years of litigation filed by a gaming opposition group.

The tribe was restored to recognition by an act of Congress. The land was acquired under an exception in the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
