Rhode Island governor hires lawyer to oppose casino

Rhode Island Gov. Donald Carcieri (R) has hired a $225-an-hour lawyer to oppose the Narragansett Tribe's proposed casino.

Carcieri hasn't decided whether to fight the proposal in court. But the lawyer, Joseph S. Larisa, is already speaking out against the proposed constitutional amendment that would authorize the casino.

The tribe has partnered with Harrah's Entertainment for a casino in the town of West Warwick.
