The Bureau of Indian Affairs published notice of three tribal-state Class III gaming compacts on Tuesday.
The BIA approved a compact for the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma. The agreement allows the tribe "Oklahoma to engage in certain class III gaming activities, provides for certain geographical exclusivity, limits the number of gaming machines at existing racetracks, and prohibits non-tribal operation of certain machines and covered games," according to the Federal Register notice.
The BIA neither approved nor disapproved a compact for the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes. Under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, this means the agreement is considered valid "but only to the extent it is consistent with IGRA," the notice states.
Finally, the BIA approved an amendment to the compact between the Lummi Nation and the state of Washington. The amendment "authorizes the limited transport of escorted minors across the gaming floor and additional hours of operation for the tribe," according to the notice.
