The Narragansett Tribe is winning over some former opponents of its plan to build a casino in Rhode Island.
Providence restaurant owner Robert I. Burke had testified against the casino. But after meeting the tribe and partner Harrah's Entertainment, he changed his mind and now believes the casino will boost the state economy.
Part of the draw is that the casino will promote other businesses. Harrah's plans to give gamblers meals at local restaurants, tickets to entertainment events and other rewards.
