Opposition to liquor license at Nooksack casino

The Nooksack Tribe of Washington is seeing significant oppostion to its liquor license application.

The local sheriff, county executive and mayor are among those who have written the Washington State Liquor Control Board. The board has received nearly 60 opposition letters.

Those views could derail the license for Northwood Crossing Casino, which is under construction on trust land in Whatcom County. But a spokesperson said the opposition was coming from a "small group of people."
