Cherokee Nation breaks ground on casino expansion

The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma broke ground on a $55 million casino expansion project on Thursday.

The tribe is basically rebuilding the 50,000 square-foot Cherokee Casino. The facility will grow to 200,000 square-feet and will have about 1,250 gaming machines and 40 poker and blackjack tables.

The casino is located in West Siloam Springs, near the Arkansas border.
