Oklahoma tribes still waiting on casino approvals

Gaming is a billion dollar business in Oklahoma but not all tribes have been able to cash in.

Six tribes have been waiting years for federal approval to open casinos. They include the Caddo Nation, whose leaders filed a land-into-trust application seven years ago.

"It's a cumbersome process,” attorney Rick Grellner told The Oklahoman.

For other tribes, it's not so hard. The Chickasaw Nation has been able to open at least 11 casinos without going through the lengthy federal review process.
