About 60 people attended a prayer rally near the site of the off-reservation casino sought by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
Jackson County United for Families organized the rally. Speakers talked about their moral objections to gambling.
"Satan's up to something; he's up to this. He's rallying the troops," one pastor said, The Mississippi Press reported.
The tribe owns 100 acres in Ocean Springs, more than 200 miles from the reservation. The tribe wants to use the land, near a major interstate, to build a $375 million casino.
