Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation takes over casino

The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation of Kansas is celebrating the takeover its casino from longtime partner Harrah's Entertainment.

The tribe entered into a federally approved management contract with Harrah's to manage the Prairie Band Casino & Resort. The gaming company received a share of the revenues under the agreement.

But as of 6am on Sunday, the tribe took complete control of the facility. Tribal leaders said the casino, which is the largest employer in Jackson County, will continue to grow.
