Nooksack Tribe opens new casino to big crowds
Friday, November 16, 2007

The Nooksack Tribe of Washington opened the doors to its Nooksack Northwood Casino on Thursday.

The casino was packed with gamblers soon after the opening, The Bellingham Herald reported. The facility has 450 electronic bingo machines.

Some nearby residents opposed the casino but had little say because it is on the reservation. The liquor license for the facility has been challenged by Whatcom County.
