The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut plans to open its new MGM Grand casino in May 2008.

The 50,000-square-foot MGM Grand at Foxwoods will look like the MGM in Las Vegas, executives said. "This is Las Vegas in Connecticut," Kevin O'Sullivan, senior vice president of gaming for the MGM Grand at Foxwoods, told The New London Day.

The Foxwoods facility is about one-third the size of the Las Vegas one. It will feature 1,500 slot machines, nearly 50 table games and a bar and lounge.
