Gaming almanac details growth of tribal industry

The North American Gaming Almanac being published today by Casino City documents the expansion of the $23 billion tribal casino industry.

Tribal casinos are becoming more and more popular, said an analyst. But other forms of gaming, such as parimutuel betting and racetracks, have been on a decline, the analyst said.

In Arizona, tribal gaming grew by 14 percent, outpacing the state lottery. Race and sports wagering fell 0.1 percent, according to the almanac.
