Jamul Band evicts residents to make way for casino

The Jamul Band of Kumeyaay Indians of California issued eviction notices to the last two remaining residents of the reservation.

The tribe is evicting the two non-members in order to build a $200 million casino. About 12 other families on the six-acre reservation have already moved.

Walter Rosales, 59, and Karen Toggery, 51, have five days to appeal the eviction notices to an intertribal court. The two have criticized the proposed casino.
