Racetracks want limits on California tribes

Horse racing interests are teaming with labor unions to seek changes to a new gaming compact in California.

Five tribes signed compacts with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) last year. But Democrats, acting on behalf of unions, blocked approval of the deals.

The racetracks and the unions say the agreements would harm non-Indian gaming facilities. They want the compact changed to limit expansion of tribal casinos.
