Rep. Frank backs repeal of Internet gaming ban

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Massachusetts) plans to introduce a bill to repeal a law that criminalizes Internet betting.

Frank said he opposes the ban for philosophical reasons. He blamed Republicans for trying to impose their moral views on gambling on the public.

President Bush signed the bill into law last October. It contained provisions that protected tribal rights, according to the National Indian Gaming Association.
