Tribes have no interest in Atlantic City market

Three of the most successful gaming tribes say they have no interest in the Atlantic City market.

Speaking to the Associated Press during the East Coast Gaming Congress, representatives of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the Mohegan Tribe and the Seminole Tribe say the market isn't right for them. The Pequots and the Mohegans are busy expanding into Pennsylvania, while the Seminoles recently purchased the Hard Rock empire for $1 billion.

The Mohegans were rumored to be interested in a Trump property but Mitchell Etess, president of the Mohegan Sun Casino, said that definitely wasn't the case. James Allen, the chief executive officer of Seminole Gaming, said real estate prices are far too high to even consider Atlantic City.
