California county discusses possible casino

Officials in Plumas County, California, are learning about the potential for casino development by the Greenville Rancheria.

The tribe was terminated but restored to recognition through litigation. A local law firm, however, claim the tribe's restored land base in the county is not held in trust.

The tribe has submitted a land-into-trust application for 333.66 acres in Tehama County. The Bureau of Indian Affairs and the National Indian Gaming Commission said they were preparing an environmental impact statement back in August 2005.
