Agua Caliente Band plans new casino in Palm Springs

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians plans to build a new casino in downtown Palm Springs, California.

Officials unveiled preliminary designs for the project. The tribe wants to demolish the existing Spa Resort Casino and Hotel and replace it with a bigger complex with more gaming space, a hotel, a performance venue, more restaurants and shops and a parking garage.

The project is still in the planning stages. The tribe would need to secure additional land around the current casino site to move forward.
