Eastern Shoshone Tribe opens Class III casino

The Eastern Shoshone Tribe of Wyoming opened the doors to its first Class III casino on Monday.

The 7,000-square-foot casino has about 100 slot machines, with another 50 on the way. The facility employs about 75 full-time workers on the Wind River Reservation.

The tribe is planning a second, larger casino. A deal for the land is still being negotiated.

The Northern Arapaho Tribe already operates two gaming facilities on the reservation. A third, 40,000-square-foot is expected to open in the coming months.
