Seneca Nation unveils plans for Buffalo casino

The Seneca Nation of New York is unveiling plans for its off-reservation casino in Buffalo.

The tribe opened a temporary facility after receiving approval from the National Indian Gaming Commission. The $275 million permanent facility will include gaming space, a hotel and a parking garage.

The 9-acre casino site was taken into trust pursuant to a land claims settlement act. The NIGC determined that the tribe satisfied an exception in the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act that applies to land claims.
