Middletown Rancheria plans casino expansion

The Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians is planning a $36 million expansion of its casino in northern California.

The tribe plans to quadruple the size of the Twin Pine Casino. "We're very excited. This secures our economic future," chairman Jose Simon III told The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat.

The project will add 91,000 square-feet the facility. The gaming floor will be expanded with more slot machines and table games and a hotel will be added.

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is backing the project through loan guarantees.
