The Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma is planning to add a second hotel at its $301 million casino resort.
The Downstream Casino
Resort is set to open in July. It will come with a 12-story, 222-room hotel.
Phase two of the project calls for an even larger hotel. Plans are in the conceptual phase right now.
The resort is located on three parcels of land in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. The gaming portion is on the Oklahoma side.
Gaming veteran G. Michael “Mickey” Brown is helping the tribe open the facility. He worked with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Seneca Nation of New York with their casinos.
“I hope to create for [the Quapaw Tribe] the same business and financial success,” Brown told The Joplin Globe.
