Washington tribe shares revenues with schools

The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe of Washington has awarded more than $26,900 in grants to local schools.

The money from The Point Casino will help schools in the North Kitsap School District deal with budget cuts. Eighteen schools benefited from the awards.

The tribal-state compact requires the tribe to share 2 percent of net profits with non-profit agencies.
