Jackson Rancheria denies casino layoff rumors

The Jackson Rancheria of California says it won't be laying off any casino employees.

Rumors of layoffs surfaced after the tribe shut down part of the gaming floor at the Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel. But that was due to some structural defects in the building -- not for any other reason.

"We have had no one laid off, excused or terminated due to the construction," CEO Rich Hoffman said, The Amador Ledger-Dispatch reported.

The tribe doesn't know how long it will take to fix the problems in the building.
