The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut reported an 89 percent drop in its gaming income on Thursday.

The Mohegan Sun Casino earned $5 million in the last quarter, down from $45.6 million during the same time period last year.“We didn’t win as much as we normally do,” CEO Mitchell Etess said, The Norwich Bulletin reported.

Overall, gaming revenues were down 10.9 percent, table game revenues were down 25.4 percent and gross slots revenues were down 5.2 percent.

”There's no getting around it,” said Etess, The New London Day reported. “The results are not very good.”

The tribe is getting ready to open an expansion of the casino that cost nearly $1 billion.
