Ponca Tribe seeks to improve roads for casino

The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma is seeking to improve roads leading to its proposed $60 million casino.

The tribe met with officials in Cowley County last week to discuss improvements to at least four roads. The project could cost at least $3 million, according to estimates.

The roads lead to the tribe's site for the Ponca Fancy Dance Casino. The land is part of the former Chilocco Indian School property, where two other tribes -- the Tonkawa Tribe and the Otoe Missouria Tribe -- already operate casinos.
